Social training, now for the masses.
BIG NEWS: We’re happy to announce that dailymile is now out of private beta!
Dailymilers logged over 100,000 miles during the private beta–that’s four times around the world–and we’re looking forward to logging many more. Thanks to everyone who has given us feedback and logged miles. We’ve worked hard to incorporate your feedback and you all deserve the credit for the great experience on the site. It has been an amazing last few months, and we feel lucky to be apart of the dailymile community. You guys are awesome!
Help Us Spread the Word
If you love dailymile, we need your help to get the word out!
And, if that isn’t a good enough reason, how about a free iPod shuffle? (They’re great to work out with!) Write a blog post about our launch and let us know that you did. On Monday, we’ll pick a winner.
If you enjoy our site, don’t forget to share the love with your friends, family, and workout buddies too! As dailymilers, you know training is so much more fun with friends. Anyone can now sign up for the site and start training. You can invite your friends here:
http://www.dailymile.com/account/invitations.
Let your Twitter followers know that @dailymile has launched, get fit for the new year!
What’s on our roadmap?
We’ve had so much great feedback. Here are a few of the things we’re working on:
Routes — calculating the distance you ran or cycled and then sharing a map of your route with others is a top priority. We’ll be adding this functionality soon.
Workout Import — importing your workouts from Nike+ and Garmin devices. We use them too and know how nice it is to just plug it in and have your distance and time uploaded automatically.
Challenges — start a challenge and invite your friends to participate. First to run 100 miles? Fastest 5k? We’ve got some really cool features we can’t wait to show off.
As always, if you have questions or feedback, send us a note: contact at dailymile.com.
See you on dailymile!

Mashable just covered dailymile in an article titled Get Fit and Stay Motivated with Dailymile. Here’s a quote from it:
Dailymile is a site for keeping track of your workouts, finding athletic events you can participate in, and sending motivation to others. The design is very slick and the features are well-organized, and while the event section dedicated to 10Ks and triathlons can be intimidating, there are tools that can be useful to just about any level of athlete – even if you’re just the type trying to stay in shape by going to the gym.

Thanks to all your hard work, we have officially passed 100,000 miles! This is a huge milestone and we’re looking forward to sharing many more miles with you all. Keep logging those miles, and soon enough we’ll be aiming for 1 million!
Additionally, we have new t-shirts for sale at http://dailymile.spreadshirt.com. A perfect holiday gift for all your training buddies.

Updates to profile
We’ve made the focus of profiles more on training. At a glance it’s easy to see how someone is doing for the week.

New tabs let view their training in-depth and the photos that they’ve uploaded.
What are you training for?
Are you training for your first marathon? A new personal record? Good health? Dailymilers want to know!
Many of you were already updating your status with your goal or asking for a way to record it. We’ve gotten rid of status and instead replaced it with “My Training Goal” to make this more consistent. You can think of the goal like a status and update it as often as you like. Let people know what you’re currently training for. You can edit this inline on your profile or from the edit profile page.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress towards their goal.
International Events
Soon after adding support for international locations, we now have support for international events! You can now add the races you’re participating in from anywhere in the world!
Have an international event you’ve been wanting to add? Do it now.
Where did my points go?
Your points are safe, don’t worry! We’ve decided to not show them on your dashboard, though we’ll still rewarding them, until we figure out all the cool things we’ll be giving away. While we work on that, we don’t want to clutter the interface or confuse people.
Lots more to come!
Thank you to all our users, you guys have given us fantastic feedback! We’ve made a lot of other small changes and a lot of fixes. Let us know how you like the changes and suggest more by sending us a note or posting in the suggestions forum. We have a bunch of new features we’ll be rolling out shortly.
Not training on dailymile yet? Request an invite and start training socially!

You might notice that the ‘Answers’ section of the site is now missing. That’s because we’ve merged Answers and Forums into just one section that we’re calling Forums. Having two different sections of the site for features that were so similar was making it confusing for people who didn’t care about the distinction. Now you’ll see both questions and discussions listed on forum pages, so you won’t have to switch back between the two to see all the conversation on a subject.
We love getting feedback. Please let us know what you think or if you have any questions.
